The Procedure

At the start of the neck lift, anesthesia is administered to ensure that the procedure is free of any pain. Very small incisions are then made behind the ears and/or below the chin. These allow Dr. Balikian access to the underlying tissues.

Platysmaplasty, cervicoplasty, and liposuction are performed as needed in order to achieve the patient’s goals. Once this is finished, the incisions are closed using stitches.

The Healing Process and What to Expect

During the course of the recovery and healing process, you will need to follow Dr. Balikian’s directions closely. This will ensure a recovery that is as short and comfortable as possible.

It will be necessary to stay home from work until cleared to return. During this time, you will be taking care of your incisions and using cold compresses on any bruising and swelling in the area. Keep your head elevated at all times, even while you are sleeping, to help control swelling.
